things you can

there are things you can change in your life style and make a big difference.one such change is to live in the present and live in water tight compartment.shut out the past and future which no one has seen .having a positive outlook in life can make a big difference to the eventuality .
the patients get so much involved in their routine chores that they fail to look beyond the possible and prefer to suffer rather than keep the mind open for new.
most of the times it is the will power which helps the patient to tide over the crises.

be the change you want to see in this world-mahatma gandhi said this.and how true.

beat the stress

competition begins from childhood.there is competition to get attention and seek love.
right from small age we are subjected to various kinds of stresses and it is the way we respond to such a stress manifests in the adult hood as a heart diasease or say any disease.so is it possible to eliminate the set in disease ?or is it possible to ward off the crises before it becomes full blown?can we administer some precautions to help us tide over the crises?
but it is in human natue to act after there s a fire .
so it is true that we can just control the disease process and not eliminate it completely?which is possible needs to be seen and the belief is contained in those two immortal words "wait and see".
the inherent nature of human being might be the important predisposing factor and unless the attitude of that person changes or he makes some life style changes, that he will stand to gain.
what is then the answer.does same one remedy fits all or is it different remedy for different individuals.

most patients have lot of querries after the operation.commonest of them being having sleeplessness and constipation.
cardiac surgery is a major thing so it takes some time for the various stress response to settle down .and for the patient to accept that he has had an operation.relatives play a major role in bring back the patient to normal level and help him adjust to the society as a whole.slowly but surely the sleeplessness disappears some times earlier in some and later in others.

constipation is a major compliant of the patient before as well as after the surgery.bowels motions is sluggish and patient who are not completely mobilised will have this complaint more often.having a high fibre diet and light meals can help.in extreme cases patient might need an enema.

tingling numbness of incision sit and little pain while working routinely at home can also be present. patient should take precautions of not lifting heavy weight and walking with swinging hands in air.for initial few weeks patients are adviused to sleep on their back only . after few weeks they can be advised to roll over to their side if they feel comfortable enough or take a pillow tyo rest their back on.

heart talk

having come across so many patients of heart disease particularly younger generation affects us a a whole.every other day we hear of heart attack occuring at least in out city if not in the immediate neighbourhood.the rise is alarming and very big problem at hand.

recently one patient of our came in with a chest pain on mild exertion.he is 16 yrs old and looks perfectly alright to any sane person.upon deeper probing ecg reveals changes which prompts us to do an angiography.
to our dismay he came out to be having left main disease with all three main blood vessels involvement and also distal scattered leision in the coronaries.upon investigation his lipid profile is deranged.and also c reactive protein is high.so steroids started to control the acute inflamation and patient asked to review with statins drugs.

he comes back and we make necessary investigations and get the patient on table for CABG.
with due informed consent and fully familirising the patien of the situation we operate the patient for CABG.

Such a young patient with deranged lipids profile and increased ldl cholestrol, prompts us to investigate further .
upon discussion with the cardiologists we reach to a final diagnosis of hyperlipidaeemia type 2
with xanthomas all over the body particularly extensor elbow joint and foot.
